Hiding analog Cassettes.

So you cound a super badass analog Cassette, didja?

Kudos. You’ve just joined the lucky few in Hidden Bands Hall of Coolness. You listened to the song… you rated it… you’re panicking because you don’t know how to hide it again… you’re in the right place.

First, think of a helluva good (new) hiding place.

Think dry, sheltered...protected from the elements. Like where you found the tape, but better. Get creative! You don’t want just any old Joe Blow finding this puppy. There’s a difference between a ‘hiding place’ and a ‘finding place’. If you really need examples, see the images below.

Got your spot? Here’s what’s next.

1. 1.) Take Cassette to hiding spot, then scan the QR code.

   Make sure you’re logged in to your Hidden Bands app. Then, open the QR code scanner in the menu and scan the Cassette. You need to actually scan the cassette again in order to re-hide it (it’s not like digital cassettes, where you can just drop them willy-nilly).

   

2. 2.) The Hide Wizard will launch.

   Just follow the instructions!^{* *}Thinking of keeping the Cassette all to yourself? You greedy little… ok fine. Keep it. Enjoy your ho-hum karma. Who knows, maybe it’s worth it.

   

3. 3.) Hints are very important to searching players.

   Take a photo that’s helpful for the person looking for your Cassette. Nobody wants to read these days. But nobody wants to look at a useless photo either.

   

4. 4.) Write a text hint that’s useful.

   Text hints should be clues or a description of something to look for in the area that makes finding your Cassette fun...not impossible. Write something like “Stand under the green awning. Look up.”

   

5. 5.) Track the cassette’s journey.

   You can keep tabs on the ongoing quest of your lucky find from now on—same as you would with any digital Cassette you hide.
