Artist Bio

Legendary punk trio, Dayglo Abortions, has been one of Victoria, BC Canada’s most dangerous music exports since 1979. The band (in one configuration or another) has always offered up no-holds barred punk rock over-the-top album cover artwork and images. Led by Murray Acton “The Cretin” (guitar and vocals), they left a mark on the punk underground in the '80s. They released classics like ‘Out of the Womb’ (1981), 'Feed Us a Fetus' (1986), and ‘Here Today, Guano Tomorrow’ (1987). In 1988, criminal charges were brought against their label Fringe and distributor the Record Peddler for the 1986 album’s overall offensiveness. The '90s releases continued with ‘Two Dogs Fucking - Deux Chiens Fourrent’ (1991), ‘Little Man in the Canoe’ (1995), ‘Corporate Whores’ (1996), ‘Stupid World, Stupid Songs’ (1998), and ‘'Death Race 2000’ (1999). Around this time The Cretin was joined by current bassist Willy Jak. 21st century releases include ‘Holy Shiite’ (2004) and ‘Live 2011’ (2011), new drummer, “Blind Marc” (who is legally blind), and the latest release ‘Armageddon Survival Guide’ (2016).
